First-party Audit
The ISO certification and audit process require that organizations incorporate internal audits as part of the ongoing monitoring requirement.
First-party audits always known as “Internal Audits” are inspections in which your company evaluates itself to see if all ISO requirements are being followed. These internal audits are not only conducted when implementing processes but also periodically after achieving ISO certification.
Internal audits are to be performed by one or more employees of your own company who has been trained in ISO auditing however it can be outsource when the personnel are occupied or are not yet experience in that field.
While the internal auditor should be separate from the process being evaluated, the person may be a corporate employee or an independent contractor like Epcon. Here, we identify potential weaknesses and offer suggestions before the external auditor’s review. During the internal audit our job is to verify that your company meets the requirements of ISO as they are described in your new procedures and work instructions and get your company ready for the third party audit.
